Historic Formula One takes centre stage at an exceptional European gathering

From 11 to 13 September, HVM Racing will bring together some of Europe’s finest historic racing grids at Circuit Dijon-Prenois. For its thirteenth edition, the Dijon Motors Cup will offer a journey through nearly a century of motor racing, from pre-war sports cars to Formula One machinery from 1966 to 1985, alongside historic Formula 2 and Formula 3 cars, GTs, touring cars and Caterhams.

A circuit inseparable from Formula One history

The 3.801 km Dijon-Prenois circuit is renowned for its elevation changes, fast corners and flowing sequences that reward commitment. The venue has hosted seven Formula One Grands Prix, including the first World Championship victory for a turbocharged engine, achieved by Renault and Jean-Pierre Jabouille in 1979, as well as Alain Prost’s maiden win in 1981.

In 2026, Grand Prix single-seaters will return to this natural arena with Masters Racing Legends for Formula One Pre-86. Alongside them, eight further grids will create a deliberately international programme combining history, performance and close contact with the public.

Masters Racing Legends for Formula One Pre-86

The headline grid of the weekend, Masters Racing Legends brings the Formula One era from 1966 to 1985 back to life. Eleven cars appear on the provisional entry list, including the Tyrrell 011 and 011B, Lotus 91, Ligier JS17 and JS21, Williams FW08C, Arrows A1, March 761 and Shadow DN9B. Two 25-minute races are scheduled, each preceded by a Grid Walk open to the public.

F2 Classic Interseries - Pre-79

Fifteen Formula 2, Formula B and Formula Atlantic cars built to period regulations between 1967 and 1978 are expected. March 782 and 772, Chevron B34 and B42, Martini MK19/22, Ralt RT1, Lotus 69 and AGS JH15B will underline the pivotal role Formula 2 played in developing future Grand Prix drivers.

F3 Classic Interseries - Pre-85

F3 Classic brings together fifteen single-seaters from the 1970s and 1980s, up to 1984. Ralt RT3, March 793, 783 and 773, Martini MK39, Argo JM10 and Alba AR1 will form a representative field from one of motor racing’s greatest stepping stones to Formula One.

Caterham Graduates Racing Club

Travelling from the United Kingdom, the Caterham Graduates Racing Club will field 41 cars split between the Sigma 135 and Sigma 150 categories. Each category will contest two separate races, with standing starts and particularly large fields.

European GT Lite Challenge

The Lotus grid will feature 26 entries across the Production, GT Cup, Exige Cup and Open groups. From the Elise and Exige to the 2-Eleven and Emira GT4, the British marque will showcase the full diversity of its sporting range.

Dijon 300 KM - Supersixties

The meeting’s endurance race, the Dijon 300 KM will bring together historic GTs and touring cars in a two-hour contest open to crews of one to four drivers. Three mandatory stops will shape the strategy. Fifty-three entries appear on the provisional list, including Ford GT40s, AC Cobras, Jaguar E-types, Porsche 911s and 934/5s, Lotus Elans, TVR Griffiths, Ford Mustangs and Falcons, as well as numerous Mini Cooper S models. The Supersixties will compete within the same race.

Top Hat Pre-66 Touring Cars MRL

Touring cars produced between 1958 and 1966 will line up for a 45-minute race. Ford, Lotus, BMW, Mini and Austin will revive the golden age of touring-car competition in a format designed for close-quarters battles.

Pre-66 GT Sprint MRL

This grid gives the great pre-1966 GT cars a stage of their own. AC Cobras, Jaguar E-types, Lotus Elans, Porsche 911s and Ford Mustangs are expected for a single 60-minute race on Sunday, before the midday break.

Pre-War Sports Cars MRL

The weekend’s oldest machines will evoke the origins of motor racing. These pre-war sports cars will contest two 30-minute races, providing a spectacular contrast with the later Formula One and GT cars on the programme.

Fast on Track: GTs and prototypes from the 1990s and 2000s

In addition to the races, two 30-minute demonstrations will showcase GTs and prototypes from the 1990s and 2000s. They are scheduled for 09:15 on Saturday and 10:55 on Sunday.
