HISTORIC TOUR MAGNY-COURS | THE SEASON FINALE !

Two days to round off the season

The action will come thick and fast from Friday onwards: following private testing and free practice, qualifying will begin at 14:00. The opening race, bringing together the Youngtimers 2L Cup and the Pre-66 and Pre-81 Sprint Series, is scheduled for 18:15. Saturday will feature the remaining twelve races, from 08:40 until the finish of the 200 KM at 18:15. A grid walk at 13:00 will give spectators the opportunity to explore the Youngtimers and Sprint Series grid ahead of their second race at 13:20.

Formula Ford and Formula Renault join the action

With 25 cars, the Formula Ford Kent Trophy and Formula Ford Historic Challenge will provide one of the finale’s key contests. François Belle will be behind the wheel of his Lola T540E, Axel Castillou will race his Ray 92F, while Jean Dionisotti and Christian Vaglio-Giors return in their Lola T540 and Van Diemen RF80 respectively. Saturday’s two races, at 08:40 and 11:40, will be decisive for the Single-Seater standings. The FRenault Historic & Classic grid will feature 13 single-seaters.

Strong grids in Lotus and GT/Touring Cars

The Lotus Trophy will feature 30 cars, including Nicolas Beloou, Dominique Vulliez, Xavier Jacquet and Jérôme Cattelin. The Lotus Sevens and Caterhams will take to the track on Saturday at 10:20 and 15:25. Another particularly strong grid, Saloon Cars and GT Classic will bring together 29 cars: Fabrice Lefebvre’s Audi Quattro, Pierrick Vulin’s Caterham HPC, Porsches, BMWs, a Dodge Viper and other racing saloons will showcase the field’s diversity.

The 25 cars in the Youngtimers 2L Cup and the Pre-66 and Pre-81 Sprint Series will bring several generations together. The Honda Civics of Franck Quagliozzi, Florent Aumard and Florian Malosse will share the track with Christian Danne’s Porsche 911 SC, Marc Alloend-Bessand’s Elva MK8, Alpine A110s and Christian Tetot’s Triumph TR3.

Guest lightweight GTs and the closing 200 KM race

The European GT Lite Challenge will bring together 25 cars, predominantly Lotus Elises, Exiges, Evoras and 2-Elevens, alongside a Ginetta G55. Its two 25-minute races will add an international dimension to the event. Finally, 24 cars are entered in the 200 KM, featuring prototypes and GT/Touring Cars, for 90 minutes of racing on Saturday from 16:45 to 18:15. Managing traffic and maintaining race pace over the distance will be central to the season’s final battles.

As the meeting’s only endurance event, the 200 KM of the Historic Tour will bring Saturday’s action to a close with a 90-minute race scheduled to start at 16:45.

French Championship update

After the first three meetings, the standings set the scene for very different finales. François Belle holds a narrow advantage in Single-Seaters, Nicolas Beloou leads a closely contested Pre-90 GT/Touring Car classification, while Franck Quagliozzi enjoys a more comfortable margin in Post-90. The 200 KM will settle the final positions in all three endurance classifications.

Single-Seaters — François Belle takes on Axel Castillou

François Belle arrives at the top of the standings with 240 points, having scored 40 points in each of the six races counted so far. His double victory at Charade enabled him to maintain a 15-point advantage over Axel Castillou, second on 225 points, who also claimed two wins in Auvergne. Their duel will continue within their respective series: Formula Ford Historic for Belle and Formula Ford Kent for Castillou. Jean Dionisotti is third on 200 points, five ahead of Christian Vaglio-Giors (195), ensuring the battle for a place on the championship podium will also be one to watch.

Pre-90 GT/Touring Cars — Nicolas Beloou under pressure

Second and then victorious in the Lotus Trophy at Charade, Nicolas Beloou leads on 220 points. Marc Alloend-Bessand sits second with 201 points, just 19 behind, following his double victory in the Pre-66 Sprint Series in Auvergne. Dominique Vulliez follows on 197 points, 23 adrift of the leader. Having won the opening Lotus race at Charade, he scored only two points in the second. With drivers from two different series occupying the top three positions, every result will count in the title battle. Christian Danne (167) and Xavier Jacquet (157) complete the top five, ahead of Jérôme Cattelin (145).

Post-90 GT/Touring Cars — Franck Quagliozzi in a strong position

With five consecutive 40-point scores following his opening second place at Dijon, Franck Quagliozzi has accumulated 235 points. His latest Youngtimers double victory at Charade extended his advantage to 47 points over Florent Aumard (188). Aumard remains his closest challenger, ahead of Florian Malosse (168). All three are entered at Magny-Cours in Honda Civics. Fabien Aumard is fourth on 136 points, ahead of GT Classic contender Jean-Pascal Roche (124.5).

Prototype Endurance — ten points separate Vancheri and Vaglio-Giors

A class victory at Charade moved Lionel Vancheri into the lead on 90 points, turning a 30-point deficit into a ten-point advantage over Christian Vaglio-Giors (80). Both are entered at Magny-Cours, with Vancheri driving a Crosslé 47S and Vaglio-Giors an Osella PA20P. Thierry Yvaren holds third place on 58 points, ahead of Pierre Boite (52). Boite will line up in his Lucchini SP93, while Jean-Pierre Destombes and Amaury Gariel, tied on 35 points, also feature on the entry list.

Pre-90 GT/Touring Car Endurance — Danne and Grenet well clear

Three races, three class victories: Christian Danne and Julien Grenet have accumulated 120 points. Their advantage stands at 85 points over Philippe Baert and the Johan Renaut / Jean-Jacques Renaut pairing, tied for second on 35 points. Entered in their Porsche 930 Turbo, Danne and Grenet will aim to end their season with a fourth victory. Their rivals will include Jean-Pierre Richelmi and Philippe Gache, who have 30 points, in a Porsche 934/5.

Post-90 GT/Touring Car Endurance — Zavattin retains the lead

Florian Zavattin leads on 75 points, ahead of Éric and Denis Empois (61) and Jean-Pascal and Pascale Roche (46). The latter pairing reduced their deficit by finishing third in class at Charade. Sébastien Mathieu and the Antoine Rigon / Daniel Mouchet / Mathieu Rigon crew follow on 40 points each. Among those entered for the finale, Sébastien Mathieu will face Didier and Adrien Samson (35 points), as well as Franck Quagliozzi and Fabien Julia (26 points).
