Charade shakes up the French Championship!

On the 3.975-kilometre Charade circuit, the Historic Tour delivered a meeting packed with significant results. From single-seaters to touring cars, GTs and prototypes, generations of historic racing machinery came together on the Auvergne track for a weekend marked by several double victories and changes at the top of the French Championship standings.

François Belle continues his perfect run in Single-Seaters, while Nicolas Beloou takes the lead in the pre-90 GT/Touring standings and Franck Quagliozzi extends his advantage in post-90. In endurance, Lionel Vancheri moves into the lead among the prototypes, while Christian Danne and Julien Grenet claim their third class victory.

The fourth and final round of the French Historic Circuit Championship will take place at Circuit Magny-Cours on 16–17 October.

FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE

This round reshaped the standings across several categories of the French Historic Circuit Championship.

In pre-90 GT/Touring, Nicolas Beloou finished second and then first in the Lotus Trophy, scoring 75 points at Charade to bring his total to 220. Having arrived 10 points behind Dominique Vulliez, Nicolas Beloou leaves with a 23-point advantage. Dominique Vulliez had initially strengthened his position by winning the opening race. However, just two points in the second race limited his weekend haul to 42, bringing his total to 197.

Christian Danne made significant gains. With two victories and a further 80 points, Christian Danne moves from 87 to 167 points and climbs to third in the championship, 10 points ahead of Xavier Jacquet. Third and second in the Lotus races, Xavier Jacquet adds 65 points to his tally.

In post-90 GT/Touring, Franck Quagliozzi continues his strong run. Two Youngtimers victories earn 80 points and take his total to 235. Florent Aumard remains his closest challenger. With two second-place finishes and another 70 points, Florent Aumard reaches 188. However, the gap to Franck Quagliozzi increases from 37 to 47 points. Florian Malosse retains third place with 168 points after adding 52 at Charade.

In Single-Seaters, François Belle leaves Charade with a perfect French Championship record: six 40-point scores from six counting races, totalling 240 points. Two further Formula Ford Historic victories keep François Belle at the top of the Single-Seater standings. Axel Castillou responds with a double victory in Formula Ford Kent, also scoring 80 points at Charade. With 225 points, Axel Castillou keeps the gap at 15 and remains François Belle’s closest challenger.

The battle for third swings in favour of Jean Dionisotti. Two 35-point scores take Jean Dionisotti to 200 points, ahead of Christian Vaglio-Giors. Having arrived at Charade five points ahead of Jean Dionisotti, Christian Vaglio-Giors leaves five points behind on 195, after adding 60 points from his Formula Ford Historic results.

In Endurance, Christian Danne and Julien Grenet claim their third class victory in pre-90 GT/Touring. Following their successes at Dijon and Val de Vienne, Christian Danne and Julien Grenet add another 40 points at Charade to reach 120. Their advantage grows to 85 points over Philippe Baert and the Johan Renaut / Jean-Jacques Renaut pairing, tied for second on 35 points. Jean-Pierre Richelmi / Philippe Gache and Vincent Pernet / Anthony Farcy follow on 30 points each.

In post-90 GT/Touring, Florian Zavattin retains the lead as Jean-Pascal Roche and Pascale Roche close in. Despite scoring no additional points at Charade, Florian Zavattin remains first with 75. Éric Empois and Denis Empois stay second on 61, a deficit of 14 points. Third in class in the 200 KM race, Jean-Pascal Roche and Pascale Roche add 30 points to reach 46. The pairing now sits third in the championship, 15 points behind Éric Empois and Denis Empois and 29 behind Florian Zavattin.

Among the under-three-litre prototypes, Lionel Vancheri takes the championship lead. A class victory and second overall in the 200 KM race earn Lionel Vancheri 40 points, bringing his total to 90, compared with 80 for Christian Vaglio-Giors, who adds no points at Charade. Lionel Vancheri therefore turns a 30-point deficit before the meeting into a 10-point advantage. Thierry Yvaren also makes significant progress: 35 points in Auvergne take his total to 58, moving him ahead of Pierre Boite, now fourth on 52.
