Just one day before its end, the 2022 French Historic Circuit Championship had a hot Saturday on the spectacular track of the Séquestre. Sunday’s final races will be the final bouquet.

Marc Faggionato (winner of race 1 and then third in race 2 of Formula Ford Historic on a Van Diemen RF81): "It’s quite a good day! This morning I won by starting from the second line with, it is true, the help of Gislain (Genecand) and Alain (Girardet), who ended up clinging in front of me. In Race 2, I was hoping to get the second place behind François (Belle), but Alain came back very strong and managed to pass me in the last lap».
Anthoni Vetro (Lotus Trophy winner on a Lotus Seven): "This is my first year of motorsport and I am discovering all the circuits. It’s still the case this weekend in Albi. Here it’s great! We need atypical circuits like this one in the championship. In the race, the battle was hot with Dominique (Vulliez), manly but respectful as always».
Alain Girardet (winner in the F3 Classic on a Ralt RT3): "I’m very happy to have won this victory, which I really went for myself without benefiting from the problems of others. Thanks to the good advice of Matthieu Châteaux, I think I understood two, three tricks that allowed me to cross a cape at the wheel of his Ralt RT3».
UPDATE AT THE FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP
On the eve of the closing of the 2022 French Historic Circuit Championship, nothing is yet played in its two categories. In «GT/Tourisme» first of all, where the last two contenders for the title finished their race of the day as winner; Philippe Gandini in Maxi 1300 Series and José Beltramelli in Asavé Racing 65. If they do it again on Sunday, the principle of counting the worst results (the final ranking will retain the ten best results in twelve races) will work in favour of the TVR 400 Griffith driver. Only a wrong step of the latter would offer a final opportunity of title to his rival. Several cases also remain current in «Monoplaces/Protos». With his two Formula Ford races scheduled for Sunday, leader Hugo Carini provisionally handed the power over to Davide Leone, second in the F3 Classic this Saturday. Contrary to them, Lionel Robert, still untouchable today in the Formula Renault Classic, will have the opportunity to garner a «full» result on Sunday, which could possibly allow him to come and style everyone on the line. We understood, in both categories, the suspense remains intact!
