HISTORIC TOUR VAL DE VIENNE : WE TAKE THE SAME ONES

HISTORIC TOUR VAL DE VIENNE : WE TAKE THE SAME ONES

At the beginning of the second part of its six-date calendar, the 2022 French Historic Circuit Championship (the Historic Tour) will gather all its faithful on the Vienne circuit. A very expected start of the school year...
WHEN HISTORY IS TOLD IN THREE DAYS
After a long break of four months, the second half-season of the Historic Tour starts on the Val de Vienne circuit during the first meeting of the season, followed by the rounds of Charade and Albi.
Almost unavoidable destination of the French Historic Circuits Championship, the context of Poitou is about to open its doors and its 3.7 km track as almost every year. Over three days, the program promises to be as usual with, in particular, 21 different races spread over the weekend. That is to say two sprint races per stage to which will be added the famous 200 km endurance.
The paddock will be well filled, since the total number of participants will be close to 290 drivers who will take part in the meeting. With the Mazda MX-5 cars more and more numerous, the record of participation should be in the Roadster Pro Cup where we expect more than 40 cars on the starting grid! Similarly, there will be more than thirty cars on the Lotus Trophy grid and almost as many in the Saloon Cars/GT Classic Trophy and the Formula Ford Historic Challenge. In short, this fourth Historic Tour of the season will not lack belligerents and even less diversity.
As usual, the spectators will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in almost half a century of motor racing by seeing again in action these countless single-seaters, protos, GTs and sedans of the last century...
UPDATE ON THE FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP
In the light of the three meetings of the first semester (Magny-Cours, Lédenon and Dijon), a solid hierarchy is already emerging in the French championship. For the most prominent drivers, it will obviously be a question of gleaning new "big points" in the Val de Vienne in order to approach the end of the season in the best conditions.
In the Single Seater/Proto category, the young Hugo Carini is leading the way and will once again be one of the favorites on the Formula Ford Kent grid at the wheel of his Van Diemen. His immediate followers, François Belle (Lola T540) and the Italian David Leone (March 783), are also strong contenders for victory in their respective categories; Formula Ford Historic and F3 Classic.
In the GT/Tourism category, the leader, Philippe Gandini (Mini Jem), will try to extend his invincibility in the Maxi 1300 Series in order to keep the advantage on Julien Grenet (Dodge Viper) and Fabrice Lefebvre (Audi Quattro), the two star drivers of the Saloon Cars Trophy.
