Historic Tour Dijon 2023 - Saturday's film

A DAY IN FIGURES

9 : the number of races run on Saturday.

316 : the number of drivers taking part in the Historic Tour de Dijon, all grids combined.

46 : the number of cars on the most crowded grid: GT Classic, Saloon Cars and Youngtimers GTI Cup.

11 thousandths : the smallest gap of the day between a winner and the next one in Formula Ford Historic.

90 minutes: the duration of the "200 km Historic Tour" endurance race organised at the end of the day.

THEY SAID

Gislain GENECAND, winner in Formula Ford Historic: "I decided to stay behind (François BELLE) for the whole race, with the idea of waiting for the last lap to play with the vacuum, but as I had taken a bit of a lead I said to myself I'll give it a go and it's gone!

Frédéric LAJOUX, winner in F3 Classic: "The first two laps the track was soaked in oil that I preferred to be careful and when I felt that the grip was coming back and that there was some grip again, I put the pace back on.

Eric MARTIN, winner with Laurent VALLERY-MASSON on the 200 km Historic Tour: "The key to success is endurance, the cars start with a lot of fuel, you have to be careful not to burn the tyres too much because in Pouas there is a lot of ripping and you drive at about 3-4 seconds of the sprint time to ensure a good 1h30 race.

UPDATE ON THE FRENCH CHAMPIONSHIP

Season 9 of the Historic Tour is underway, and the first day of the event has already been rich in information. The good news is that the two reigning French champions, Lionel ROBERT (Single Seater/Proto) and Philippe GANDINI (GT/Touring) are on hand to defend their crowns. The former has chosen to hand over his Formula Renault MK48, which won in 2022, to his son Antoine ROBERT, who finished on the top step of the podium and follows in his father's footsteps, who finished third. The latter started the championship with a magnificent victory. This Saturday was also prolific for Grégory YVETOT, Laurent SABATIER, François BELLE, Philippe GANDINI, Josserand DE MURARD, Julien PIAU, Ludovic BELLINATO, Frédéric LAJOUX, Antoine ROBERT, Emmanuel BRIGAND, Jean Pierre RICHELMI Eric MARTIN & Laurent VALLERY-MASSON, all winners on their respective stages. This is enough for them to share, very provisionally, the first place of the French Championship in Single Seater/Proto, GT/Tourism Pre 1990, GT/Tourism Post 1990 and Historic Endurance. They will all be back in action on the Burgundy track this Sunday.

200 km of the Historic Tour :

The 200 km takes on a new dimension this season as the new French Historic Endurance Championship is created. The format remains unchanged: 1h 30 of race with two compulsory stops of 2 min 30 for refuelling and change of driver, or not, as some crews like the 73 and 43 cars, which finished respectively second and third, had a single driver on board.

1. MARTIN/VALLERY-MASSON, 2 VILLOT Jean-Michel, 3 Gérard PARGAMIN
