HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY

At the end of race 2 of the FIA Historic Formula 3 European Cup Pre 85, we had the European F3 champion. Frédéric Rouvier won 1.1 seconds ahead of Davide Leone in category 1, far ahead of Christopher Hodgen, who was third. In category 2, Dutchman Patrick Andriessen took first place, more than 8 seconds ahead of Frédéric Lajoux and 33 seconds ahead of Ghislain Genecand.

In the paddock, the autograph session was again a great success with a passionate public happy to be present at this event on this magnificent Pascal weekend.

An eventful 6h V de V race

Last night at midnight, the chequered flag was raised putting an end to a 6 hour endurance race which had been a great success for many crews. After 132 laps covered, the Palmyr team was 1'33.027 ahead of the BMW of the Châteaux Sport Auto team, which took an incredible second place. The podium was completed by the Simon Racing team and their Porsche 964 Cup.

A SUNDAY OF RACES

Formula Ford 1600 (1967-1992): 

On this sunny Sunday morning, the Formula Ford cars were the first to take to the track. With a grid determined by the results of Saturday's race 1, we find Arnaud DOUSSE in great shape from the very first laps, holding his first place. Xavier MICHEL does not let himself be defeated and takes the lead on the 3rd lap. Eric LECLUSE is forced to retire at the end of the 3rd lap as he was dominating his category. Arnaud DOUSSE takes the lead in a fierce battle and sees Gislain GENECAND following him in second place. Matthieu WRIGLEY was given a Drive Throught when he was leading the pre-74 cars, after an unsportsmanlike conduct. The race ends with a great battle at the front, with Swiss driver Gislain Genecand ahead of Arnaud Dousse at only 45/100th. Xavier Michel completes the podium relegated to 8 seconds of the two leaders.

The top 5: 1. Gislain GENECAND, 2. Arnaud DOUSSE, 3. Xavier MICHEL, 4. Christian VAGLIO GIORS, 5. Augustin SANJUAN.

Legends of the 70's & 80's : F1 & F2 :

The top 3 did not move during the first laps of the race and remained in the order established by the previous day's race 1. Éric Hélary made an excellent start, 14th at the end of the race, he was 4th after only 3 laps. An engine problem on Marco Coppini's #34 car left oil on the track on the 6th lap. Englishman Michel Cantillon won the race, 3 seconds behind his compatriot Jamie Constable. Eric Hélary completes the podium, author of a remarkable race with a car he didn't know two days before. In the F2 category, Manfredo Rossi Di Montelera was well ahead of Sébastien Brisard.

The top 5: 1 Michel CANTILLON, 2 Jamie CONSTABLE, 3 Eric HÉLARY, 4 Matthieu WRIGLEY, 5 Soheil AYARI.

FIA Historic Formula 3 European Cup Pre 85 :

The second race of the FIA Historic Formula 3 European Cup Pre 85 took place under the spring sun.

Davide Leone escaped to the lead while Frédéric Rouvier and Patrick Andriessen fought for second place. Two retirements of cars # and #28 on the 6th lap were added to the list of those who would not see the chequered flag. On the last lap, Valério Léone collided with Laurent Vallery-Masson and was also forced to abandon the race. Davide Leone won this second race, almost 2 seconds ahead of Frédéric Rouvier, who started on pole, and Patrick Andriessen completed the podium.

BOSS GP: F1 90's & 2000's :

This Sunday, the Boss GPs faced each other for a second race. Didier Sirgue's Jaguar unfortunately did not allow him to take the start, so it was a duel between the Torro Rosso and the Benetton that kept us in suspense on the F1 side. Not surprisingly, the Austrian Ingo Gerstl and his Torro Rosso outclassed the German Ulf Ehninger. Apart from these cars, it is Antonio Pizzonia who dominates the ranking, only 8/10 ahead of the Italian Simone Colombo and 2.8 seconds ahead of Marco Ghiotto.

The top 5: 1 Antonio PIZZONIA, 2 Simone COLOMBO, 3 Marco GHIOTTO, 4 CHECCO, 5 Thomas JACKERMEIER.

Lotus Trophy :

Last race of the weekend, the Lotus Trophy closes in beauty this KENNOL Grand Prix de France Historique. An excellent battle between the first four drivers which saw Dominique Vulliez win only 75/100th ahead of Nicolas Beloou, who started 24th at the beginning of this race and made a fantastic comeback. Florent Cazalot is 0.278 seconds behind the leader to complete the podium. Author of the best lap in the race with a magnificent time of 2'37.436, Anthony Delhaye takes the fourth place after this crazy battle on the track, only 4/10 of the leader.

The top 5: 1. Dominique VULLIEZ, 2. Nicolas BELOOU, 3. Florent CAZALOT, 4. Anthony DELHAYE, 5. Emmanuel GARCIA IMAZ.
